New Zealand's S&P/NZX 50 index ended Monday with marginal movement, closing at 13,408. This reflects a continuation of last week's lackluster activity, largely influenced by declines in the industrial and technology service sectors. Specifically, Ventia Services saw a 2.4% decrease, and Gentrack Group fell by 3.9%. In the energy minerals sector, Channel Infrastructure experienced a 2.5% drop. However, these losses were counterbalanced by significant gains in other areas, with ikeGPS Group climbing by 4.8% and KMD Brands increasing by 1.9%. Economically, the Reserve Bank announced its intention to maintain the current official cash rate. Governor Anna Breman pointed out that while a slight possibility of a near-term rate cut exists, the prospect of a rate hike next year has diminished due to unexpectedly tight financial conditions. This week, traders are anticipating a series of economic data releases, including the GDP report for the third quarter.
